The name might not ring a bell to many of you, but Mr. Tempchin is Legendary!
Best known for penning "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and "Already Gone" for the Eagles, Tempchin has written music for a variety of artists that includes George Jones, Glenn Frey, Randy Meisner, Glen Campbell, Emmylou Harris, Trisha Yearwood, and many others. “Learning to Dance” is his latest effort (his 10th since 1978 and his first in eight years) and was released earlier this year. According to Temphcin himself, this album contains the best tunes he has written in a very long time. Also according to him in an interview, Tempchin states that he sees himself as a new artist. Despite the fact that he has written so many tunes for others and has released a lot of solo albums, this new start and a new home for his music gives him the feeling that he is starting al over again.

“Learning to dance” is a very low-tempo singer song-writer album that occasionally checks in with the past but mainly focuses on today. Although it is a 100% Americana album, I would certainly not classify it as Folk or Country at all. As a matter of fact at times you have the idea that you’re listening to a crooner instead of a singer-songwriter.
