There is no doubt about it! Rollin’ Rock the seventies label from the US is not only full of obscure are rare artists, but it is also solely handed responsibility for the re-appreciation of Rockabilly music back in the seventies in the US.

When Carlos from El Toro Records was making a compilation with original Lone Star Bop tunes from the fifties he came to the conclusion that all the artists he wanted to put on this compilation had recorded back in the seventies for one particular guy called “Rockin” Ronny Weiser, the owner of Rollin’ Rock Records. Also he noted that most of these artist would have been completely forgotten if Rollin’ Rock would never have tracked them down to record again! So by calling’ this album “The roots of Rollin’ Rock” he surely pays tribute to this odd but classic label! But he also shares with us why Rockin Ronny became so passionate with Rockabilly.
