Filmed simultaneously with the comedy "Hot Milk", "Rojo Sangre" is the latest movie of Werewolf Legend Paul Naschy. Uncrowned king of the European werewolf movies, Naschy (born Jacinto Molina) appeared in about 80 movies and is best known as Waldemar Daninsky the werewolf. While most of his movies are done on a low budget (specially on costumes) and have a fantastic script (mostly about werewolves, vampires, Frankenstein & all the other classic monsters) this time Paul Naschy plays the role of his live. Not as a vampire, werewolf or wolfman but as the egocentric Pablo Threnet, an older but completely forgotten actor from the glory days of cinema. Threnet has suffered some major setbacks. His daughter is murdered, his wife left him and his agent is about to drop him. In order to get a job Pablo goes from one casting to another, only to find out that the new generation of directors and casting directors has never heard of him. Without a job or money, Pablo is forced to take a night job at a trendy nightclub annex whorehouse. The rich owner of the club Mr Ricefull hires him to play a living statue at the entrance of his club, although it isn't real acting, he makes good money. Full of hate and frustration, Pablo start to think of revenge. As the most monstrous persona from our history (Gilles de Rais, Jack the ripper) he starts killing many famous Spanish actors. Everything seems to work out fine and nobody is suspecting him, but is he also getting away with it ? "Rojo Sangre" is a new but very bloody variation of Ghoete's Faust theme. Directed by debuting Christian Molina (son of Paul Naschy). Christian Molina only 28 years old, has worked on more then 20 movies as a cameraman & educated at prestigious schools like ESCAC in Barcelona & ECAM in Madrid. Together with his father Jacinto Molina (Paul Naschy), he is presenting his directing debut. ![]() Paul Naschy, is a real workaholic and often quantity rules over quality, but so far he was able to be in more the 80 movies & write numerous scripts. According to the legend, Jacinto Molina is an architect who went on to become an illustrator. He also worked as a writer of pulp novels and did some weight lifting before he finally found out that acting was the love of his live. Among the many classic creatures he brought back on the screen are a mummy, a yeti, the wolf man, Mr Hide, Dracula, Frankenstein and the polish werewolf Waldemar Daninsky. In this new millennium, Jacinto finally gets the respect he deserves and is being honoured by the Spanish industry.
