Dead and Breakfast: BIFFF 2005
This one promises to be good! "Dead and Breakfast” is an ode to the seventies & eighties B-movies, which influenced filmmaker Matthew Leutwyler. It's no secret that "Dead and Breakfast" is inspired on movies like "Evil dead II" and Lucio Fulci 's zombie flicks. Even the dance choreography of "Thriller" played a role in the inspiration of this movie. With a handfull of awards this movie will be a sure winner at the allnight movie spectacular "The Night' at BIFFF

The cast is really outstanding. Ever Carradine (grand daughter of John Carradine & niece of David Carradine) , Erik Palladino (ER), Jeremy Sisto (Wrong Turn, Six Feet Under), Oz Perkins (Son of Anthony 'Psycho" Perkins) and not to be missed David Carradine (Kill Bill, Kung Fu) . They guarantee that "Dead and Breakfast" is so much more then just another independent Horror Movie.

"Dead and Breakfast ” is a low budget project, shot in 18 days, with sometimes 30 sets a day. There's not much room for error, or re-shoots. Giving the film a "Graphic Novel" look solves these budgetary limitations. This [graphic novel look] is very much apparent in the second part of the movie, when all hell breaks loose.
Budgetary limitations mean that you have to sit down with people and talk things over from the very start. This was certainly true for the FX part of the movie. Matthew Leutewyler explains: Earlier meetings with artists, usually ended with them sarcastically saying good luck, but [Michael] Mosher, kept saying "No Problem". Although that scared me too.

Dead & Breakfast was shot in a 100-year-old Victorian house, where an unsolved murder had taken place. These settings were a unique experience. During the shooting days there were a number of unexplained events, including screaming and knocking from the closed down section of the house. These disturbances seemed minor to all the "common" bad luck the crew had . On the third day of shooting they set the complete area without electricity. This meant, they had to stop filming, on one of the most ambitious days of the schedule, including a pyro crew; two weapons wranglers and 25 extras in zombie make-up (not to mention the angry neighbourhood).

Dead and Breakfast is al about six friends, on the way to a wedding party. Half way the journey they stop at Lovelock, to stay the night in a B&B. The owner is very friendly and is pleased to take care of them; the cook however is something different. Arriving for breakfast, the morning after, the six friends discover that both the owner & the cook are dead.
Accused of murder by the local sheriff the six have to stay a little longer in Lovelock. They are up for the fight of their life, when an evil spirit is taken over the town.
