Seduction of Misty Mundae.

Based on an original idea by Joseph Sarno, The seduction of Misty Mundae, can be seen as a homage of the classic sexploitation flick “The Seduction of Inga”. And that’s exactly what first time feature film director Michael Raso had in mind; a homage of sixties and seventies erotica. Since Razor Reel is all about cult, rare and offbeat movies, this was reason enough to include this feature film among the others, and we’ll never say no to some sexy women on the screen.

A simple plot (as always with seduction movies), a supposed 18 year old Misty (playing herself) travels to her aunt (Julian Wells) to live there for a while. Being a young girl in bloom, Misty discovers the appetite of sex for both genders. When it turns out that Aunt Inga, isn’t her biological aunt but a very close friend of her mother, nothing stands in the way for a big finale.

Starring the now 26-year-old Misty Mundae, Julian Wells and Chelsea Mundae this is a giant step forward from the usual spoofs Seduction Cinema is used to deliver.
This film was shelved for about 2-3 years before it was finally released this year (2005) . The reason for this is unclear to me, cause it surely show us a more mature (what’s in a word) acting Misty Mundae then for instance in Spiderbabe or Mummy Raider. I could even say the movie therefore so much better than the others mentioned. It’s the young, natural appearance yet, very mature/natural acting of Misty Mundae that makes this movie. That’s certainly why the complete film is actually made around her persona.
In the extras we see Michael Raso, who admits that the movies of Joe Sarno conveyed a very good guideline for this movie. The commentary that comes with the movie spoken by Michael Raso, gives a really great insight on the actresses and the scenes, something that’s rare for this sort of movies.

I have to admit that I’ve always been a fan of Eicinema and the many labels from this company (Seduction Cinema and Shock-o-rama to name a few) for many reasons. One of the main reasons is certainly the fact that they have made an art of releasing top notch DVD’s. Once more the people behind these productions have delivered a fine product with lots of bonus material.
Extras include a full-length feature commentary with director/producer/co-writer and editor Tony Marsiglia. Also included is a revealing 7-minute ‘behind the scenes’ segment, a Julian Wells photo shoot, a few Seduction Cinema / Misty trailers, a Retro Seduction Cinema Peep Show called The Smoking Voyeur and an extra CD with the soundtrack of the movie (performed by the Pink Delicates), with excellent sixties style music and bonus cuts from the “Curious Obsessions” soundtrack..

While it might not be the high-end of art, they might not be the best actors or directors around and the movies will never break any box office records but they are doing the things they do, in a great way. Not to say they are the best in their genre.
