Rate (1-5) :

Singer/songwriter Claude Diamond is not a newcomer to the country scene, but he’s is sure new in the recording scene. Claude Diamond by now 65 years old, has finally released his first album “Diamond Dust”. I have no idea, why he had to wait so long cause this album is a real country gem. It’s a thoughtful mix of traditional and modern country music with fresh concepts and strong lyrics.

Claude started singing and playing guitar during the late 50's around Natchez and Hattiesburg, Mississippi. During the 60's he taught guitar lessons in Atlanta. Into the 80's he started writing lyrics and has won several awards for songs entered in song writing contests. In 2003, Claude won the first place in the country category of the 2003 Dallas Songwriters Association song writing contest, with the song “Half my Doublewide” And now 2004 his first album “Diamond Dust” saw the light on the Vettset Music label.

The winning song, "Half My Doublewide", is included on his CD, "Diamond Dust" and is certainly amongst the top picks on this album, together with “I drop quarters”.
“Diamond Dust” is all about real songs, people can relate to sung by someone who wrote and understood the life's lessons he sings about. Not only the lyrics are good but also the music is very good. A true original country classic. Next to the above mentioned tracks be sure to check out “Last man on earth” , “Land of Zydeco” and “The Phone Call”.
