Once again the Ace Cafe provide dus with a band from the states and like most of the time it turned out to be a great evening with an excellent band to provide the soundtrack. Hell even folks from the far end of Belgium ( bruges) made their way to the Ace cafe. On stage this time Ruby Dee & The Snakehandlers, honky tonkin band from Denver Colorado. Vampira Departs Our Galaxy, Aged 86
 TV personality and actress Maila Nurmi, better known to horror buffs as Ed Wood's Vampira, has passed away at aged 86, according to ShockTillYouDrop. I live in Belgium not that far from the Dutch border and I do like crossing it into the Netherlands. Flemish people are known for their reserved attitude; Dutch people however are more direct. The nice thing about that is when you are in the Netherlands you are easily spoken to and even asked to join them. And then there's the difference in public. Oddly enough in Belgium it seems like the Rockabilly audience mainly exists of people in the 20 to 40 age group. In the Netherlands, the Rockabilly public is slightly older and broader, varying between 35 and 60. Johnny Cash tribute concert canceled
FOLSOM, Calif. (AP) — A concert marking the 40th anniversary of Johnny Cash's famous concert at Folsom State Prison has been scraped, with the prison and the promoter blaming each other for the cancellation.
The tribute concert, scheduled for Sunday, was to have been staged in the same prison cafeteria where Cash performed before inmates on Jan. 13, 1968. That breakthrough performance became a popular live album.
Prison officials called off the show late Monday, citing problems over filming rights, media access and security concerns.

After making our way trough the crowd that was there for the Xmas market, we finally arrived at Kid’s place. It became noticeable very soon that alcohol was being served at the xmas market, since after a few moments the guys that were sitting next to us started falling of their chairs.

Pinup girl Jeanne Carmen dies
IRVINE, Calif. - Jeanne Carmen, the "little country girl" who became a 1950s pinup and actress and hobnobbed with Frank Sinatra and other stars, has died. She was 77.
Carmen died of lymphoma Thursday at her Orange County home, said her son, Brandon James.
Born on Aug. 4, 1930, in Paragould, Ark., Carmen picked cotton with her family before running away at 13.
"I was just a little country girl that wanted to be a movie star," she told the Orange County Register in 1996.
