There are generally two types of harmonica players: Ones who have amazing technique, and those who play with intense feeling. Gary Primich was both. The great blues player, whose appearances in Europe brought out harmonica aficionados in droves, died Sunday, ex-wife Tina Rosenzwieg confirmed. An announcement of his death was also posted on his Web site. He was 49. The cause of death has not been released.

Johnny Cash to receive pardon 42 years after his arrest
Johnny Cash is to be honored by Mississippi town Starkville, 42 years after he was arrested there and locked up in the cells for the night.
The Johnny Cash Flower Pickin' Festival will include a pardon for the singer, four years after his death.
It is reported that Cash was arrested in May 1965 while picking flowers from somebody's garden in the town, inspiring him to write a song "Starkville City Jail," which he performed at San Quentin prison.
Johnny Cash later wrote in his autobiography that he was arrested while walking from his motel to a grocery store after a party on the Mississippi State University campus.

Pine Box Boys, Ace Cafe, 16/09/2007, Rumst
The final gig of the Pine Box Boys European tour.
Already in the afternoon Chris announced to us that the cafe would be loaded with people, cause he kept getting phone calls from people from Holland and France to ask when the band would start.

Well I now regret that it was the first time I’d seen these guys on their tour in Belgium and Holland, cause they’re great. With their songs about murder and necrophilia, and all other type of things that fall in the category disturbing behavior, they had the place partying in ... continue reading

The Rhumba Kings: cd release party 08/09/2007 @ Ace Cafe Rumst
The first date of the cd release party of the Rhumba Kings. As you might have read i really dig the new cd and was anxious to hear some of the songs played live. And let me tell you i wasn’t disappointed.
Judging by the reaction of the crowd neither were they.
The opened strong with “Louisville”, a number of the new cd. Only to release after that this wasn’t the first song on the set list. As Mark later confessed the only reason why he picked up the double bass is cause he can’t read the set list if it’s taped on the floor. “Folsom prison blues”, which actually was, is one of the cover songs played by the Kings. Some of the other songs ... continue reading
