Bo Diddley Back Home
Bo Diddley is out of the woods.
The 78-year-old rock 'n' roll pioneer was released Saturday from the Florida hospital where he was recovering from a heart attack he suffered last month, according to his publicist, Susan Clary.
After complaining of dizziness and nausea during a routine doctor's appointment on Aug. 24, Diddley was admitted to North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, where he then had a stent implanted to improve blood flow.

REMEMBERING JANIS - PUT A LITTLE TIME ASIDE FRIENDS
It Saddens us to report and has crossed the wires already that Janis Martin passed away earlier today at the age of 67. Rock-it Radio reported in it's newsletter last Friday that Janis was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer and sleeping and resting most of the time in a hospital bed at her home.
Art Adams phoned Rockabilly and Rock-it Radio associate Sheree Homer earlier this evening with the sad news that she had passed away.

Song promoter, 'Be-Bop-A-Lula' co-writer, dies at 93
Sheriff Tex Davis, whose efforts as a songwriter, manager and promoter altered rock 'n' roll and country music history, died Wednesday at 5:55 a.m. He was 93, and had recently been released from the hospital after a long period of declining health.
Mr. Davis is credited with co-writing the Gene Vincent smash "Be-Bop-A-Lula," he managed Vincent to popularity, and later Mr. Davis took a job as promotion man at Monument Records in Nashville, where he pitched now-classics from Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Jeannie Seely and many others to radio stations.
All of this from a man born in Connecticut as William Douchette.

Johnny Cash DVD corrals superstar guests
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rarely seen performances by Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison, Joni Mitchell and a slew of other superstar acts have been unearthed for "The Best of the Johnny Cash TV Show," a two-disc DVD set due in stores September 18.
The series, which ran from the summer of 1969 to March 1971, captured Cash at the height of his popularity, and provided an invaluable national showcase for an astonishing array of singer/songwriters of all genres.

Rockabilly artist, Janis Martin has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and it has spread all over her body.
Her husband Wayne Whitt has told me that she is napping most of the day in a hospital bed at her home in Danville, VA. She will soon go and take a temporary residence in Raleigh for a round of radiation treatments to try and reduce the size of the tumors behind her lungs, shoulder and leg. Janis had been suffering from severe headaches over the past several months so she found it necessary to cancel her recent booking at the Americana Festival in England. Bo Diddley had heart attack
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Bo Diddley was in stable condition at a Gainesville hospital after suffering a heart attack, his publicist said Tuesday.
The 78-year-old singer-guitarist complained of dizziness and nausea during a routine medical checkup with his physician on Friday, said publicist Susan Clary.
She said Diddley was taken to North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville where a stent was implanted to improve the blood flow to his heart. The hospital is near the musician's north central Florida hometown of Archer.
