Compadres,

The July issue of "The Lance Monthly" has been posted and the featured article is a very candid recollection of the life and times of The Cavaliers of "Last Kiss" fame, written entirely by founder and original guitarist, Sid Holmes. As usual, go to http://www.lancerecords.com for a free read.

IN THIS ISSUE: A Candid Behind-the-Scene’s Recollection of the Cavaliers of “Last Kiss” Fame (1956 – 2007); Comments on Last Month’s Interview (Up Close with Mike Mitchell; Sonny West); Jump, Jive  ... continue reading

John Carter Cash forges own path
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - John Carter Cash knows all about the pressure of following in famous footsteps.
Not only was his father the musical legend Johnny Cash, his mom was June Carter Cash, a beloved member of the pioneering Carter Family.
His half-sisters, Rosanne Cash and Carlene Carter, are successful recording artists. His ex-brothers-in-law are Rodney Crowell, Marty Stuart and Nick Lowe.
"Everywhere I've gone people say, 'Why don't you sound like your dad?'" he reflected recently. Then, as if pondering the question yet again, he answered himself: "Well, God didn't make me that way."

KIDS 'N' BILLIES FESTIVAL - GOFFERT PARK - NIJMEGEN - 23 JUNE
Howdy all ....... Thought I'd drop in with a review of last week's gig where we performed our first show with new guitar man Biereke ....

First of all I must say that of all my years in the business that this is one of the best organised festivals I have ever been to and a great concept, especially for families with young kids...
A great outdoor venue in the grounds of the huge Goffert Park in Holland, the day was not ruined by the lousy weather as the large stage and stadium seating area was well covered and rain proof........an excellent sound system and stage crew who made all the bands sound great and kept the festival running  ... continue reading

The 11th Rockabilly Rave: Camber Sands England 21 till 24 June.
Must say this was the First time at the Rave for me and it’s someting i can recommened to everyone. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and after fixing everything in the cabin, by 21 o’clock it was time to get the party started.
The Rave was Mc’d by Del Villareal, and i’m sure by now everyone who was there knows that he has a show on Motorbilly Radio ( so no need to mention it a 1000 times like he did). Opening the festival: The Sugar Creek from the UK, these guys play authentic 1950’s rockabilly and it sure was a good way to start of the festival. Next band: The Barnstompers, a well know band from Holland, playing western swing. Up next Deke  ... continue reading

We‘re ashamed that the President of the United states is from Texas.

This film is a story of three artists, mothers and citizens who refused to be silenced. The journey we took with the Dixie Chicks in the aftermath of their criticism of the President's war policy, is the story of our country right now. As we watched these women standing up for  ... continue reading
