Billybop Festival: The First Edition
Last Sunday, June the 17th, the First Billybop festival took place in Bonheiden, Mechelen. For months the crew of Billybop carefully planned their first event and the result of their work was simply said great. Kudos to the Mechelen division of Billybop who prepared every detail from scouting the place at Bonheiden months before the event to prepare the first coffee on Sunday morning.

Elvis Presley's pills, gun auctioned off
BEVERLY HILLS - A gold-plated gun and a pill bottle owned by Elvis Presley, an umbrella twirled by Marilyn Monroe and Alfred Hitchcock's passport were among items that attracted bidders at an auction Saturday.
The umbrella used by Monroe in a famous 1949 seaside photo shoot by Andre de Dienes sold for $42,000 at the annual Julien's Summer Auction, CEO Darren Julien said in a statement. The buyer, William Doyle, said he planned to display the umbrella at the Museum of Style Icons in County Kildare, Ireland.
Hitchcock's passport sold for $19,200 during the eight-hour auction at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Ferlin Husky has leg surgery
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country singer Ferlin Husky was resting in a Missouri hospital after surgery on his leg, his spokesman said.
Doctors at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo., on Friday inserted a number of stents into the arteries in his left leg to aid his circulation, said Tracy Pitcox, president of Heart of Texas Records, Husky's label.
Husky, 81, has been having problems with his legs for the past few months. Tests showed that arteries in both legs were nearly blocked.
Surgery is planned on his right leg in the next two weeks.

"Lost" Johnny Cash performance on tap for summer
NEW YORK (Billboard) - Johnny Cash fans will soon have access to a new recording of the Man in Black, the 16th since his September 2003 death.
"The Great Lost Performance," a 1990 Cash concert featuring duets with June Carter Cash and with singer Lucy Clark, will hit stores July from Universal Music.
The 18-song banter-filled live album was recorded July 27, 1990, at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, N.J. I can ease your pain. Get you on your feet again...
We haven't done this in quite a while. We used to play the Parkside Sunday
shows fairly regularly before things became sort of "fluid" there. But the
place has been sold. A new regime has been installed and our hope is that
the sun shines there again.
What was so great about these shows (it wasn't the money, that's for sure)
was that it was a relaxed, easy place for a lot of friends who don't do the
bar scene to hear the band and hang out. It's free. The parking is easy.
It's early (daylight!). And it's all ages. Hell, there aren't even any steps

It is with a heavy heart that I must officially announce today that Thierry Limelette, Rhumba Kings guitarist for the last 12 months or so, has had to remove his services from the band.........Reasons are personal but no secret-you will hear different versions as always in these situations, that's showbizz!!
