Review : Belgian Roots Night XIII
What could be better than starting the Weekend at a festival with a promising program? Last Friday evening, Hof Ter Loo was going to vibrate the sounds of Roots music styles going from Rockabilly to the Blues, passing by at some instrumental Surf.
To start out the evening at the bar, Don Croissant came out with an energetic act in the purest tradition of the Blues pioneers; however you could reproach him a little monotony but we can forgive him because it's not easy to play 3 sets on your own.
In the concert room, the Baboons opened the show with an interpretation of "Have love will travel" from the Sonics, followed by a set, going from ... continue reading

T Lintfabriek 06 05 2007: The legendary Johnny Trash & The Royal Crown Revue
Another Sundaynight out on the town.
On stage this night: The Legendary Johnny Trash and the Royal Crown Revue.
The openingband was Johnny Trash, who played a shorter set then usual since the club has to make sure that they obey the laws about the noisepolution.
But that didn’t stop the band from giving all they got as usual. On their setlist songslike: “Cocaine blues”, “White Trash Valentine”, “333”, “Halleluya”. The band was joined on stage by the Cherry Chicks.
After a short break it was time for the main band of the evening. The Royal Crown Revue. This band from Los angeles was formed in 1989, so they’ve been around for quiet ... continue reading

A film for Eddie Cochran, by Darrel Higham
A film for Eddie Cochran, by Darrel Higham
Darrel Higham wrote the first great book about Eddie Cochran, the rock pioneer who died in 1960 aged only 21 years. Cochran fans would love to have a film about his Life... Darrel was nice enough to give us his opinion about it.
Thank you Darrel!
A film for Eddie Cochran
Darrel Higham
It's been 47 years since he passed away. He influenced several generation of future megastars, and continues to do so. He was pure Rock 'n' Roll, the epitome of the image, a real man's man and the ladies loved him. He wrote his own songs, and in the process managed to write at least half ... continue reading

Ace cafe, Rumst 29/04/2007
On a lazy Sunny Sunday afternoon it was time again for the Ace Cafe open air festival festival.
After a few car problems on the way there, we finally got there and found out that everything was a bit delayed. The Baboons were still sound checking and after a while it was time for there set.
These guys sure know how to play, but i must say that the music they play isn’t really my style. Don’t get me wrong it’s good music, but it’s a bit too bluesy for me. But since the sun was shinning, and the mood was right, we enjoyed the show.
Next band on stage the Rhumba Kings. As always they threated as with some really great rockabilly songs, ... continue reading
