Up close with Trini Lopez
Compadres,
I'm in the beginning stages of an interview with the great Trini Lopez. It may take a little while to compete it, as much of his time is presently being devoted to his 61st album.
Those of you who have been fans of Trini are more than welcome to send me questions about this legendary icon, who's just about done it all. I'll do my best to get them answered (unless, of course, I've already presented them).
On another note, today is my one-year anniversary: no, not marriage (I've been married more than 40 years to Judi, The Knights' original go-go girl). Remember my heart attack one year ago today? Never felt ... continue reading

Concert Review: Rockabilly Day,27/08/2006
First time at a new venue, loads of space.
As every year, it turned about to be a sunny day after all.
At the venue, a great collection of pre 65 cars ( although some more recent models seemed to have slipped pass the entrance) and bikes, some vendors, tattoo stall, pinstriping, but no cds ( a bit strange), heard a remark that the toilet facilities weren’t sufficient.
The afternoon started with the Be-Bops. They’re back, and how. Excellent starter for the afternoon.
Played songs like: “ Lucille”, “ You go it all”, “ Lonesome tears”, “ When I found you”, “ Let’s keep things moving”.
Next band: The Seatsniffers. ... continue reading

Concert review: Rockin at the Drive-in Barn, Oost-Eeklo.
After the BBBBBQ on Saturday ( Thanx for the invite Guy and all the good cares). We arrived at the Barn a bit late and with a slight hangover.
At the square in front of the hall some very nice cars and bikes were parked. Great to see so many classics and rods.
First band: The hydrosonics, these guy played a great set of surf tunes, like “ Wipe Out”.
Next up; Earl & The Overtones. These guys from France played an excellent set with songs like: “ Bo Diddley”, “ Jeanie”, “ Suzy”, “ Worrying Kind”, “ Tornado”, “ I’m a man”.
Due to the set up of the barn, the sound suffered from feedback. The organization promised that next ... continue reading
