A great legend passed away ...
Yesterday (june 10, 2004) Ray Charles passed away at the age of 73. This man was, and still is, the main influence for many musicians.
Some say he was a bluesman, some described him as soul or Jazzman, but he was, and always will be, a music legend.
His death is a big loss, but we'll always remember him as the "Hit the road Jack" man. Rest in peace ....

Curtis Gordon RIP
Sadly the death of Curtis Gordon at age 75 from cancer on 2nd May 2004 has been announced. Curtis was a genuine honky tonk singer who had his recording heyday from the early to mid fifties. However in recent times, his talent
has been acknowledged as a first rate rockabilly singer with classics such as 'Rock, Roll, Jump And Jive, 'I'm Sittin' On Top (Of The World)', Mobile Alabama' and 'Draggin'. Curtis appeared before sell-out crowds at such rock 'n' roll
festivals as Hemsby in the UK and Viva Las Vegas in the USA. He was born on 27th July 1928 near Moultrie, Georgia.. God bless you, Curtis !!!!

FREDDIE FINGERS LEE......
What happened to one-eyed Fred? This is what Paul Barrett told us : "It is sad news indeed but Freddie 'Fingers' Lee has had another stroke. He had to advise me to cancel all his bookings for the foreseeable future. This is a day I hoped never to see, but Fred has hung up his rock' n' roll shoes. We
can only hope he will be able to put them on again some day".

Dave & Deke Reunion!!!
Deke announced during his set at VLV that Dave and Deke are committed to play VLV and Green Bay next year!!! This is not a hoax, not an imaginary story, its true! And according to a friend of Dave S, the two shows will be slightly different, Lance will handle the bass duties at one show, and Shorty will do the other. The reunion is a one-time deal, well two time actually but that's it!
Thanks, Larry Shell for the information!
