  • Is Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats) still playin'?
We all know that Brian Setzer is doin' a helluva job with his Orchestra, and that Lee Rocker is slappin' the Blues more than ever, but how about Slim Jim Phantom? After forming "13 Cats" and "The Swing Cats", he started Col. Parker!! It was how most great bands start out – a bunch of friends getting together for the sheer fun of it. It helped that Slim owned the Cat Club, a sacred Hollywood haunt on the Sunset Strip. To fill out Thursday nights, Slim invited his Col. Little Richard retired
Rock 'n roll legend LITTLE RICHARD has announced plans to retire after 50 years on the road. The flamboyant veteran, one of the last great original rock heroes says that his current US tour will be his last and that not even a phone-call from the president could make him change his mind. "I've been making music since I was eight years old, and I'm tired now," he said. "I've never taken a vacation. I work every day, year in, year out."
The star, Ananova reports, plans to retire to his home state of Georgia. "I haven't decided what I'm going to do, but I won't be travelling for rock," he
    said.
