Before the night is over the porch is filled with musicians and too much beer. Hailing from Hungary and build up from different other bands, Redneck Roadkill is a showcase for good old-fashioned country music with a modern twist. The image of the south I give is their way of life but instead of the usual polka dancing, these guys are the equivalent of the US rednecks. Musically the band brings you a great diversity of country styles. From the common country music loved by truckers and bickers to some good old fashioned styles from an era gone by, the band brings you a series of self-penned tunes and a handful of nifty chosen renditions. Amongst those covers you’ll find “Highway Patrol”, “West Bound and Down”, “Truck Drivin’ Man” and “Night Train to Memphis”. Furthermore you’ll find also an instrumental pyschobilly/neorockabilly outlet in “Raccoon Chaser” and a great ode to alcohol in “Death to the Liver”, both self penned of course. The album is build up with an intro, a song section and an outro. After the outro the Rednecks do also a showcase of two Hungarian sung tunes. The latter are somewhat unnecessary if you ask me. But apart from those two tunes, I can say that Moonshiners Base Camp surly knows how to rock your day. A must seek out album. Mr. Blue Boogie. |
