Concert review: Sjock 32, 7 & 8th july
Once again it was time for Sjock, as always this festival is held in Gierle.
For us the festival started at 19.oo, but apperantly the drinking had been going on for quite sometime by then.
First band at the Titty Twister; The big Bayou Bandits, as always they treated the audience with their own special blend of Cajun, Tex Mex and Rockabilly. After a long wait, well of course there’s something going on at the main stage, but that’s not really my idea of music.
So 40 minutes later it was time for the Truly Lover Trio and special guest Dawn Shipley. A 50`s/60`s Rock n Roll trio from the USA, who can best be described as, "something  ... continue reading

Country legend Louvin has full slate at 80
NEW YORK (Billboard) - Charlie Louvin turned 80 on July 7, but the Country Music Hall of Fame legend is moving faster and faster -- careerwise, at least.
Amid a jam-packed celebratory weekend July 6-8 in Nashville, the surviving Louvin Brother made an appearance at the Louvin Brothers Museum and performed the evening of July 7 at the Grand Ole Opry, of which he has been a member since 1955.
Louvin capped the weekend at the Country Music Hall of Fame for the world-premiere screening of the music video for "Ira," a moving tribute to his brother Ira Louvin, who died in 1965. The track is from his recently released self-titled album for  ... continue reading

Catslappin' Chrissy releases new cd on july 28th
Catslappin' Chrissy will release its first full-CD “Gone Rockin’ ” on July 28th at the 1# Car & Rockabilly Round Up in Gemert (NL)

The band stays loyal to its original formula: honest old school rockabilly with a flicker of blues and country, carried by a strong female voice and a catchy drive.

Due to the pregnancy of singer Kristel, the band hasn’t been on stage the last couple of months. However, this offered them the opportunity to record a brand new album mainly containing own productions combined with a few covers. The highlight of the summer should be the 1# Car & Rockabilly Round Up Festival in Gemert on July 27, 28  ... continue reading

The July issue of "The Lance Monthly" has been posted and the featured article is a very candid recollection of the life and times of The Cavaliers of "Last Kiss" fame, written entirely by founder and original guitarist, Sid Holmes. As usual, go to http://www.lancerecords.com for a free read.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - John Carter Cash knows all about the pressure of following in famous footsteps.
