The Fifty Foot Combo - Caffeine ( re-release)
From Drunkabilly Records & The Fifty Foot Combo, comes the word that the 2002 Album Caffeine is available again. The 2002 album was quickly sold out, but by high demand a re-release is offered this summer. Recently the Belgian commercial tv-channel VT4 uses some songs from this album on their reports about the World Championship Football in Germany, ofcourse you can’t blame the band for that !

Johnny Grande - RIP
Johnny Grande (born January 14, 1930 in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; died. June 2, 2006 in Clarksville, Tennessee) played piano and accordion with Bill Haley and the Saddlemen, later known as Bill Haley & His Comets, from 1949 to 1963. He was one of the musicians involved in the classic 1954 recording of "Rock Around the Clock". One of his jobs was to keep track of musical arrangements for the group as he was one of the only members who actually read music. Although primarily a piano player, Grande performed on accordion during most live shows as it was easier to transport than a piano, plus the hand-held instrument allowed him to participate ... continue reading

Rhumba Kings - Update
As most of you know by now, Mark Spreckley and Patrick Ouchene decided not to work together any longer, so Patrick is no longer in the band.
The Rhumba Kings will continue to play with a new fantastic guitarplayer, Thierry Limelette. Check this guy out, he is super!!
Hell yeah, he can play that guitar, he is also a guitar-teacher. On top of that, he is a very nice, down to earth and funny guy.
On his first gig with the The Rhumba Kings yesterday in Kalmthout, he only had very good comments which made the band very proud.
Jean Colling and Mark enjoyed the gig so much because of the good feeling on stage. According to the audience ... continue reading

Hamawé Roots Festival
Great music and atmosphere, last weekend in a small town next to Virton in the Belgium Ardens.
On Saturday night (the night before the festival) we enjoyed a jam session at the organiser’s home. When we heard live Cajun music coming out of the house, we occasionally passed by a few times… The owners were so friendly to let us in. So we could join a small private concert from the Savoy Family Cajun Band (Marc, Ann, Wilson and Joel) and some members of the Straps (which is a talented Belgian Old-Time Country band from that neighbourhood). Later when Marc and Ann Savoy were tired (jetlag), they went to sleep and Jan Schelpe (guitar) and I (Cajun ... continue reading
